STEP 1

Measure out enough water for the amount of coffee you want to brew, plus a little extra to rinse the filter, and bring it to a boil.

STEP 2

Rinse the paper filter quickly with hot water. 

STEP 3

Grind your beans just prior to brewing, for a paper cone filter. Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of ground coffee per 8 fluid ounces of water (1 cup).

STEP 4

Add the beans to the filter, and fill it halfway with boiling hot water, to saturate the grounds. Wait 8-12 seconds for the coffee to become saturated. 

STEP 5

Add the rest of the boiling water, pour in slow even circles to make sure you cover all the grounds.
